Contemporary architecture houses

Contemporary family house on the beach, designed by Herriot + Melhuish: Architecture Ltd (HMA). This house has four bedrooms plus studio and study also a swimming pool in the backyard. In this coastal setting, sun, views and habitable outdoor spaces alternately protected from and catching sun and wind were a priority. Combining a rational geometrical sensibility with a romantic attachment to the land and tradition. This contemporary house consists of two interlocking volumes: a white bedroom wing, loosely derived from the repetitious plan of ‘shearers’ quarters’, inserted into a double height ‘timber ‘crate’. Also use heat pump technology and solar panels on the roof, augment the large double glazed openings that capture sun and trap heat in winter, but cool through sea breezes in summer. (more…)

Modern house design

This modern house, designed by Greek architects Nikos Koukourakis, located inside the Dionysos, a suburb northeast of real estate in Attica, Greece. This house has a garden and beautiful swimming pool, with the main architectural concept was to design a modern house with straight lines and big openings to a flat garden. This enables the natural light to travel through every space of the house, reducing the amount of energy needed to illuminate the house. Large glass surfaces allow an open dialogue with the outside world continuously, without creating a sense of isolation within the home. Comfort in this house truly become the number one for consideration by the architect. (more…)
